Fantasy Football Advice: Week 5 Mailbag
What’s Kyren Williams‘ Trade Value in Dynasty Leagues? – @Texastrojan2004
Kyren Williams has been playing out of his mind, averaging an impressive 20.4 Points Per Reception (PPR) points per game. This places him fourth among running backs with at least two games played. He totaled 28 touches last week. So the potential to be a league winner is there.
However, it’s important not to forget who Williams was before he catapulted to fantasy football stardom. His 2022 NFL Combine testing results were relatively mediocre. He posted a 4.645-second 40-yard dash, a 10th-percentile speed score and a 21st-percentile burst score. Additionally, he was drafted as a day-three (fifth-seventh round) running back. As laid out here by IBT’s own Scott Rinear, day-three running backs don’t typically have staying power. You can also just ask Tyler Allgeier, Myles Gaskin or James Robinson.
Matthew Stafford is also likely to experience positive touchdown regression, having thrown for 300+ yards three times but only three touchdowns. This could limit some of the walk-in touchdowns Williams has been scoring. Additionally, Cooper Kupp‘s return could also impact Williams’ value.
In dynasty leagues, Kyren Williams’ value could range from an early second-round rookie pick to a late first-round rookie pick, especially if trading with a competitive team. Consider packaging him with something smaller to maximize your return.
